Sept Winery Merweh 2023
A wine born from a century-old vineyard and a five-year search through the villages, forests, and valleys of Mount Lebanon. Sept Winery's Merweh is more than a bottle – it is an act of preservation, a tribute to the polyculture traditions of our ancestors who planted Merweh between olive and fig trees on ancient mountain terraces.
Nearly lost to phylloxera, civil war, and rural exodus, this remarkable indigenous grape was rediscovered in 2016 by winemaker Maher Harb: a century-old, franc de pied vineyard that had survived everything. Today, Sept Winery is proud to restore and celebrate this heroic variety – producing the most honest expression of one of Lebanon's oldest mountain grapes.
An explosion of minerality and floral notes with an oriental twist of tamarind and rose water.
